The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams began nationwide today with 15,203 students absent on the first day. The Ministry of Education reported that 50 people, including 49 examinees and one invigilator, were expelled for cheating. The eight general education boards conducted the Bangla first paper exam for 9,33,689 candidates, with 9,23,719 attending and 9,970 absent. Misconduct led to 21 expulsions, including one invigilator. The Madrasah Education Board saw 75,856 out of 78,844 candidates attend, with 2,988 absent and 4 expelled. The Technical Education Board had 1,83,630 out of 1,88,863 candidates attend, with 5,233 absent and 29 expulsions, the highest among all boards.
