Bangladeshi umpire saikat to officiate in final two tests of Border-Gavaskar series

Bangladeshi umpire Shafuddoula Ibne Shahid Saikat is set to officiate in the final two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Series between Australia and India. The fourth Test begins tomorrow in Melbourne, where Saikat will serve as the TV umpire. In the fifth and final Test, starting on January 3 in Sydney, he will take on the role of an on-field umpire. Saikat, a former first-class cricketer, has been recognized for his dedication, becoming the first Bangladeshi umpire to officiate in the 2023 ODI World Cup. He has since officiated in the 2023 T20 World Cup and various high-profile Test, ODI, and T20I matches.
