Alif Mahmud, a young man from Bangladesh, has reached Mecca on foot after a nine-month journey spanning 8,000 kilometers to perform Hajj. Setting off from Batabaria village in Cumilla on July 8, Alif traveled through India, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, and the UAE, facing numerous challenges along the way. Inspired by historical travel methods, Alif initially considered cycling but chose to walk to emulate ancient traders. His remarkable endeavor, which took 270 days, has been praised by Bangladeshi expatriates in Saudi Arabia and others for its unique approach to the pilgrimage. Alif is also known for cycling through all 64 districts of Bangladesh.
