Zimbabwean skipper Sikandar Raza has reportedly been denied an Indian visa for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026, raising concerns that Zimbabwe might boycott the tournament. However, recent reports suggest new developments may change the situation.
Raza, an experienced all-rounder, leads Zimbabwe alongside veterans like Brendan Taylor, Sean Williams, and Craig Ervine, who form the backbone of the team. The squad has consistently participated in T20 World Cups and occasionally in ODI World Cups, showcasing competitive performances.
Last month, Zimbabwe played a T20I tri-series in Pakistan against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, managing a win over hosts Sri Lanka and putting up strong fights against both teams.
Raza, appointed captain in the shortest format, has led from the front with both bat and ball. Following the visa issue, social media speculated about a potential boycott. However, senior journalist Adam Theo clarified that neither Zimbabwe Cricket nor the ICC has made any official announcement regarding such a decision.
