Zendaya and Tom Holland have quietly revealed their engagement, with a subtle announcement at the Golden Globes. On January 6th, Zendaya was seen wearing a sparkling ring on her left hand as she walked the red carpet, sparking engagement rumors. Sources close to the couple later confirmed the news, with outlets like TMZ and People sharing the story. A source told People that everyone close to them was aware an engagement was imminent, adding, "Tom has always been deeply in love with her. He knew from the start that she was the one. They share something truly special."
Reports indicate that Holland proposed during the holidays at one of Zendaya’s family homes. While they haven’t set a wedding date, the couple is not rushing to marry due to their busy schedules, with major projects on the horizon, including a possible Spider-Man sequel and Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s Odyssey.
The two first appeared together in Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017 and made their relationship public in 2021. Since then, they have kept their personal lives relatively private. Holland recently told Men’s Health that he’s happy to step back and let Zendaya shine at her major milestones. He stayed out of the spotlight during the Globes, where Zendaya was nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, for her role in Challengers.
In the same interview, Holland expressed his desire to leave the spotlight once he has children. He shared, “When I have kids, you won’t see me in movies anymore. Golf and dad—that’s it. I’ll disappear from the public eye.”
Zendaya, who typically keeps her relationship private, praised Holland in a Vogue cover story last April, commenting on his swift rise to fame. “One day, you’re just a kid at the pub, and the next, you’re Spider-Man. He handled it so gracefully,” she said.
