Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has called on global leaders to urgently enforce a complete ceasefire to safeguard the Palestinian people from ongoing atrocities, while ensuring accountability for those responsible for crimes against humanity in Palestine. He made this appeal during his address at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. The chief adviser emphasized that the genocide in Gaza continues relentlessly, despite widespread global concern and condemnation. "The situation in Palestine is not just a matter for Arabs or Muslims, but for all of humanity. Palestinians are not disposable. Those accountable for the crimes against humanity inflicted upon the Palestinian people must face justice," he stated. Professor Yunus reiterated Bangladesh's call for an immediate and full ceasefire to protect Palestinians, particularly women and children. He also urged the international community, including the UN, to act decisively in implementing the two-state solution as the only viable path to achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.
