A video of a youth and a car driver assaulting a reported rickshaw passenger in Dhanmondi-7 has gone viral, sparking outrage online.
Tanin Haque, who shared the video on Facebook, claimed the incident happened in front of Baitul Aman Jame-e-Masjid on the afternoon of March 8. According to her post, the altercation began after the car, in which the youth was a passenger, hit a rickshaw from behind at high speed. This led to protests from the rickshaw puller and the passenger, escalating into a heated argument.
The video shows the youth, dressed in a black shirt, repeatedly hitting the rickshaw passenger.
Dhanmondi police stated they have yet to identify those involved, and no complaint has been filed.
