Salman F. Rahman, Chairman of Beximco Group and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s private industry and investment advisor, has come under scrutiny after a report about mobile phone use was published. In response, prison authorities took prompt action, conducting searches in the cells of VIP inmates, including Salman, at Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj. Sources revealed that Salman and several other officials expressed anger during the inspection, with Salman reportedly saying, "You are disturbing us." The daily Kaler Kantho published a report on Tuesday titled ‘Darbesh’ active even in prison, which included details of a phone conversation between Salman F. Rahman and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Following the report, prison guards assigned to VIP inmates were replaced, and new personnel were appointed. Furthermore, restrictions were imposed on VIP inmates' gatherings for conversations, although they are still permitted to walk together. During these walks, they are prohibited from discussing any "anti-state" matters, with disciplinary actions promised if such discussions are found.
