Tuesday, a joint declaration was made at the Secretariat, announcing that the attendance bonus for workers in all garment factories will be raised by 225 taka. Additionally, the government-mandated minimum wage will be enforced across all factories by October, and factory authorities are required to clear any outstanding wages by October 10. The factory owners have accepted these terms, along with 18 other demands put forth by the workers. The declaration was delivered by AH M Shafiquzzaman, Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, in the presence of government officials, BGMEA leaders, and labor union representatives. Advisors from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, and the interim government's labor advisor were also present. Following the meeting, labor advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan expressed optimism that all garment factories would resume operations starting today.
