In Lucknow, India, Sub-Inspector Sakina Khan led a police operation to apprehend Kamal Kishore, who had been accused of raping a four-year-old girl. On May 28, following a tip-off, the police team closed in on Kishore’s hideout in the Madeyganj area. As the officers approached, the accused opened fire on them. In retaliation, SI Sakina Khan responded by firing her service pistol, striking and injuring Kishore. He was then taken into custody and transported to a hospital for treatment. The entire encounter has been officially documented. Notably, SI Sakina had also been providing counselling to the young victim as part of the ongoing investigation.
