A woman was robbed in broad daylight while traveling in a battery-operated auto-rickshaw on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Daudkandi, Cumilla. The robbers, who were armed with sharp weapons, snatched her mobile phone and cash before fleeing. However, instead of giving up, the victim, Yasmin Akter, bravely chased after them. With the assistance of local residents, she managed to catch two of the culprits. The enraged crowd beat the suspects before handing them over to the police. Yasmin later stated that the thieves had also attempted to withdraw money from her mobile banking account. Law enforcement officials identified the arrested individuals as Hossain Mia, 29, and Delwar Hossain, 19, confirming that both bore visible marks of being beaten. Meanwhile, locals pointed out that Satpara village, located nearby, is widely known as a shelter for criminals. The police have taken the suspects into custody and are preparing to take legal action against them.
