Without fulfilling eligibility requirements, former Shibir President called for recruitment test at Cumilla University

A candidate has been invited to participate in the recruitment test for the position of lecturer in the Department of Management Education at Comilla University (CUB) despite not meeting the eligibility requirements stated in the recruitment notice. The candidate, Mubarak Hossain, is the former president of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir. As per the recruitment notice published on Comilla University's website in October last year, candidates for this position in the Department of Management Education must have achieved a first division or a minimum GPA of 4.00 in both the SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations. However, Mubarak Hossain, who has been called for the test, has an HSC GPA below 4.00. He completed his HSC examination in 2003 under the Comilla Board, obtaining a GPA of 3.90 out of a possible 5. Addressing the issue of the candidate being called for the test without meeting the eligibility criteria, the head of the department, Dr. Sheikh Mokchedur Rahman, stated, "We held a meeting in the planning committee. This was an unfortunate mistake. We have sent a letter to the registrar, and now the administration will look into the matter."
