#WeAreNahid: Bangladesh Stands in Solidarity with Nahid Islam Against False Propaganda

In response to slanderous propaganda against Nahid Islam, a coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement and advisor to the Interim Government’s Ministry of Information Technology, Bangladeshi netizens have flooded Facebook with the hashtag #WeAreNahid. Many leaders and activists, including Abu Bakr Majumdar, Abdul Quader, and Rifat Rashid, have posted using this hashtag to show support for Nahid. Recently, a photo of an appointment letter signed by Nahid Islam for the Director General of the National Institute of Biotechnology (NIB) spread on social media. Nahid clarified that the appointment, made on October 15, was canceled by October 22 after political concerns arose. On November 13, Salman Muktadir also posted with the hashtag, emphasizing the importance of the revolution led by Nahid. Dhaka University student leader Abu Sadiq Qayyim praised Nahid and others for their unwavering dedication and sacrifice in the fight for justice.
