BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman has pledged to discover new gas fields within the country and ensure that the gas reaches every household.
Speaking at an election campaign rally for the Dhaka-5 constituency on Monday (February 9) at Shaheed Faruk Road in Jatrabari, the capital, he alleged that the previous government relied solely on importing gas from abroad instead of carrying out proper exploration at home. Expressing strong confidence, Tarique Rahman said Bangladesh has vast gas reserves and vowed that, if voted into power, the BNP would take effective steps to extract and utilize these resources.
