Hasnat Abdullah, coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, proposed lowering the voting age to 15, arguing that today’s youth are more aware and capable of taking responsibility. He emphasized that previous generations have failed, and it’s time for the youth to step up and help build a better future for Bangladesh. He shared this view during a meeting with students at Kazi Shahabuddin Girls School and College in Panchagarh on November 6. Coordinator Sarjis Alam also spoke, stressing the importance of choosing representatives who are accountable to the people, not driven by power. He warned against partisan politics, which can lead to dictatorship, and urged youth to remember the country’s history of violence and choose leaders who value life over power. Fazle Rabbi, Mokaddesur Rahman Sans, and other co-coordinators were also present during the event. Prior to this, Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah met with students at Bhajanpur Begum Khaleda Zia Girls' School and Tetulia Pilot Government Model High School.
