Loud explosions echoed across Israel late Tuesday after a missile attack launched by Iran. A U.S. defense official confirmed that the United States helped defend Israel by intercepting several of the missiles. Both Israeli and U.S. officials reported no civilian casualties in Israel. Speaking at a White House news conference, U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan revealed that Iran had fired nearly 200 ballistic missiles targeting Israel. He also mentioned that American naval destroyers worked alongside Israel, deploying interceptors to neutralize the incoming threat.
