A van driver from Mymensingh’s Ishwarganj, known locally as “Messi Suman,” has attracted attention after taking a Tk 50,000 loan in his wife’s name to decorate his neighbourhood in Argentina’s blue-and-white colours ahead of the FIFA World Cup. He painted his van in Argentina colours and put up flags and banners throughout the area, creating a World Cup-themed atmosphere.
Despite facing financial difficulties and living in a government shelter, Suman said his love for Argentina football inspired the effort. He also plans more celebrations during the tournament, including community gatherings and food distribution for fellow supporters.
