A high school graduation ceremony in North Carolina was briefly disrupted after the valedictorian went beyond her approved remarks during the commencement speech. While speaking at Clayton High School, she referenced international issues, including the situation in Gaza, as well as U.S. immigration enforcement policies under ICE.
School officials stepped in and escorted her off the stage before she could finish her address. The district later confirmed that the comments were not part of the pre-approved speech, and the ceremony continued afterward.
