Young inventor Julhas Mollah from Manikganj has gained national attention for successfully building an aircraft. In recognition of his achievement, US-Bangla Airlines has stepped in to fully support his research and development efforts. The airline has offered to cover all financial and technical expenses related to building his aircraft, as well as any costs for overseas research or training if required.
On March 6, Kamrul Islam, General Manager-Public Relations of US-Bangla Airlines, announced their commitment to assisting Julhas in advancing his innovation. Julhas visited the airline's Uttara office the same day to discuss the proposal. He plans to consult his family before making a final decision on collaborating with US-Bangla Airlines.
Previously, the Manikganj district administration had also pledged financial support to encourage Julhas' work. Experts believe his success will inspire young innovators across Bangladesh and pave the way for future advancements in technology and innovation.
Julhas, originally from Baghutia in Daulatpur upazila, now resides in Shaitghar Teota of Shibalay upazila due to river erosion. He is one of eight siblings and completed his SSC from Zionpur High School in 2014. However, financial struggles forced him to discontinue his education, and he now works as an electrician in Dhaka.
His father, Jalil Molla, recalled that Julhas had always been fascinated by creating things from plastic scraps, often saying, "One day, you'll see what I've made." Over the past four years, Julhas had been attempting to construct and fly an aircraft, facing multiple setbacks. However, on March 3, he successfully flew his plane to a height of 50 feet in the Yamuna Char, marking a significant milestone.
His achievement has now become a source of inspiration for young talents in Bangladesh, showing that determination and creativity can lead to groundbreaking innovations.
