During a discussion meeting on Saturday morning (October 19) at the Chittagong Circuit House, an advisor expressed his frustration regarding the lack of Chittagong's presence in two out of three days of market monitoring activities. He criticized officials for failing to provide information about the number of operations conducted by the task force or consumer rights initiatives, noting that he had only received a report from the Commerce Secretary covering three days. The advisor emphasized that merely saying "yes sir" to please those in authority is no longer sufficient, stating, "If someone doesn’t work or is not accountable, we won’t need them anymore." He pointed out that bureaucratic rules often protect officials from accountability, but he asserted that he would not adhere to these regulations. He concluded that true governance in Bangladesh would require cooperation and could not rely solely on established rules, as significant change has never occurred by following them.
