The UK government has honored Dr Tasnim Jara, a Bangladeshi doctor currently serving with England’s National Health Service (NHS), by naming her a "Vaccine Luminary" at the G7 Global Vaccine Confidence Summit.
As part of its G7 presidency, the UK organized the Global Vaccine Confidence Summit on Wednesday. This groundbreaking event brought together leading experts from both public and private sectors across the world to promote and sustain public trust in vaccines.
Speaking about the recognition, Dr Jara, who is also pursuing postgraduate studies in evidence-based healthcare at the University of Oxford, stated, “Although I have been featured from the UK on the global map, my work has reached and supported more people in Bangladesh and India.”
Dr Jara, who stands as the only Bangladeshi to receive this distinguished recognition, added, “I am deeply proud to represent our region on such a significant international platform.”
