Two vessels carrying around 68,000 tonnes of diesel have arrived at Chattogram Port.
The ships reached the outer anchorage of the port on Tuesday evening (April 14), according to port officials and shipping agents.
They said the Indonesian-flagged tanker MV Lucia Solis, carrying about 34,991 tonnes of diesel, arrived at around 5:00 PM. It later moved toward the Dolphin Jetty in Patenga and was expected to berth by Wednesday afternoon.
The Denmark-flagged MT Torm Damini, carrying approximately 32,935 tonnes of diesel, arrived at the port later that night. It is scheduled to berth at the jetty on Thursday.
Prade Shipping Managing Partner Nazrul Islam said Lucia Solis was heading toward the Dolphin Jetty and was expected to berth by around 12:30 PM. He added that lightening operations are ongoing for Torm Damini, and the vessel may berth at the jetty tomorrow.
He also noted that it takes about two days to unload fuel from each ship.
Earlier the same day, another vessel named MT Great Princess arrived at the port carrying 12,000 tonnes of jet fuel from Singapore.
