Two patients, Mallik (32) and Zahirul Islam (22), died after a nurse mistakenly administered the wrong injection at Shahid Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College in Kishoreganj on January 15. The patients had been admitted for hernia surgery on January 14. Senior staff nurse Nadira accidentally gave anesthesia in the ward instead of transferring them to the intensive care unit. About half an hour later, the patients lost consciousness and died. Doctors believe the wrong injection caused the fatalities. Relatives of the victims protested in front of the hospital, causing tension. Helis Ranjan Sarkar, the hospital director, confirmed the incident, stating that the responsible nurse has been removed from duty. A five-member committee has been formed to investigate the matter.
