Sabuj Sikder and Sadek Hossain Khoka, two runners from Raipura Upazila in Narsingdi, marked Bangladesh's 53rd Victory Day uniquely by completing a 53-kilometer run. This tribute honored the martyrs and freedom fighters who played a vital role in the nation’s independence. The duo began their run early Monday at 6:00 AM from Ashrampur Gate Bazaar in Raipura and finished at Panthshala Ferry Ghat at 12:36 PM, completing the distance in 6 hours and 36 minutes. Their journey spanned regional roads and paths through Narsingdi Sadar, Shibpur, and Raipura, and they faced no challenges along the way. Sabuj, a seasoned runner, and Sadek, a police officer and athlete, sought to celebrate Victory Day in a meaningful way. As co-founders of the "Raipura Runners Community," they have previously organized three marathons to promote fitness and honor national heroes, highlighting the joy and health benefits of running.
