Two brothers from Satkhira, Idris Ali and Siddiq Sardar, have transformed their lives through hard work and dedication by selling khilipaan (flavored betel leaf). Their small shop in Patkelghata Bazar now earns over Tk 1 lakh per month, attracting steady crowds of eager customers.
Located on a busy roadside, the shop—Atith Bhai Pan Dokan—offers khilipaan prepared with aromatic spices, priced between Tk 10 and Tk 30 depending on ingredients. Its popularity has grown over the years, drawing visitors from neighboring districts and even Kolkata, with many placing advance orders.
The brothers sell around 3,000 to 3,500 pans daily, with long-distance transport drivers among the most frequent buyers. Customers praise the unique taste, fragrance, and high-quality ingredients, including carefully selected betel leaves, lime, supari, and spices.
What began as a modest roadside venture has become a celebrated example of grassroots entrepreneurship, showing how skill, dedication, and consistency can turn a small business into a thriving success.
