On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed concern over the growing tensions between India and Pakistan, describing the situation as a "tit-for-tat" exchange. Speaking at the White House, Trump said he hopes the two nuclear-armed Asian neighbors will now stop further escalation. Emphasizing his familiarity with both countries, Trump stated, "They've gone tit-for-tat, so hopefully they can stop now," and added that he knows both sides "very well" and wishes to see them resolve the issue peacefully. He further remarked, "If I can do anything to help, I will be there."
Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio had a separate discussion on the same day with his Saudi Arabian counterpart, focusing on efforts to reduce tensions between India and Pakistan. The U.S. State Department confirmed the conversation, underscoring the international concern over the situation. Trump also described the rising conflict between the two nations as "a shame."
