Trump says he can end the Russia-Ukraine war in one day. Russia’s UN ambassador says he can’t

Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed he could end the Russia-Ukraine war within a day if re-elected. However, Russia’s UN Ambassador, Vassily Nebenzia, disagrees, stating, “the Ukrainian crisis cannot be solved in one day.” During a CNN town hall in May 2023, Trump expressed his desire to end the conflict, saying, “They’re dying, Russians and Ukrainians. I want them to stop dying.” He said he would accomplish this by meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin, a claim he continues to repeat on the campaign trail. Recently, Trump argued in a debate with President Joe Biden that Putin wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine if a “real president” who commanded respect had been in office.
