Tourist ships will begin operating on the Cox's Bazar-Saint Martin route from Thursday (November 28), confirmed Cox's Bazar ADM Nizam Uddin Ahmed. The departure ghat is yet to be decided, though Carey Sindabad has received approval to operate. A daily cap of 2,000 tourists to the island is set, with overnight stays allowed only in December and January. A joint committee, led by Nilufa Yasmin Chowdhury, was recently formed to oversee tourism and shipping regulations. Their first meeting will finalize ship departure points.
