Students blocked roads and railways in Mohakhali on Monday, demanding the transformation of Titumir College into a university. Although the blockade was withdrawn at 4 pm, the students resumed their protest at 6:30 pm, blocking the road in front of the college after a meeting at the Ministry of Education. Later, a 12-member delegation that attended the meeting began a hunger strike in front of the Secretariat. Habib Ullah Roni, a member of the delegation, stated, "Around 5:30 pm, Aminul Islam, a special assistant professor of education, contacted us. He informed us that Advisor Asif Mahmud had conveyed that the ongoing movement by Titumir College students has caused unrest among the other six colleges affiliated with Dhaka University. Therefore, it is not feasible to accept their demand at this time." The students' primary demand is to revoke the affiliation with Dhaka University and establish Titumir College as an independent university.
