Matiur Rahman, the controversial former National Board of Revenue (NBR) officer, tearfully shared his story in court, saying, "During the Awami League government era, I was the first official to be made OSD. The government used intelligence agencies to shift the public's focus from the Russell's viper snake panic to my family's alleged involvement in the 'goat scandal,' making it go viral. If you hear my story, every heart will cry."
This statement was made on Wednesday (January 15) around 4:30 PM when he was brought before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in Dhaka. He was placed in the CMMS Court's detention room and brought to court at 5 PM.
