After winning a landslide victory in the BFF votes on Saturday, Tabith Awal was chosen president of the Bangladesh Football Federation, making him the most influential person in the nation's football scene.
The only candidate for the position, AFM Mizanur Rahman, a grassroots organiser from Dinajpur, received only five votes, while Tabith, a politician and businessman and two-time past BFF vice-president, garnered 123 votes. A total of 133 council members cast ballots.
Only Imrul Hasan, the committee's current vice-president, was elected without a challenge to the senior vice-president position out of 46 candidates running for 21 positions in the elections.
