Syeda Rizwana Hasan, the Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Advisor, announced that starting October 1, students will monitor the ban on polythene bags in supermarkets. Speaking at a seminar on alternative products held at the Department of Environment, she noted that a list of participating schools has been compiled, with student orientation scheduled for tomorrow. Furthermore, there are plans to make the Secretariat plastic-free by December, highlighting the need to revitalize the jute industry. She also mentioned that beginning November 1, actions will focus on markets and polythene factories, aiming to replace plastic with jute, cloth, and paper products.
