In response to rising living costs, a new fair-price market has opened in the old bus stand area of Kanaikhali, Natore, offering everyday goods, including vegetables, at prices 5 to 15 taka lower per kilogram than the local market. Organized by the 'Natore Interest Protection Committee,' this initiative, overseen by students, aims to connect farmers directly with consumers, eliminating middlemen. The market operates every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:30 AM to noon. During a recent visit, items like rice, eggs, potatoes, eggplants, and onions were available at prices such as 45 taka per kg for rice and 130 taka for onions, helping community members save on essentials.
