Students block Mohakhali streets, demanding the change of Titumir College to Titumir University

On Thursday, October 24, students from Titumir College blocked the Mohakhali intersection in the capital around noon, demanding the establishment of an independent public university that would include the seven affiliated colleges. This blockade on the main road in Amtoli, Mohakhali, led to traffic congestion in the surrounding areas. The protesting students said, "Creating an independent university with the seven colleges is essential. Although these colleges are affiliated with Dhaka University, the quality of education has not improved, and students have faced increasing difficulties. That's why we felt it necessary to block the road." Just a day prior, on Wednesday, students from the seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University held a similar protest by blocking the Science Lab intersection, reiterating their demand.
