Touhid Mia, who thought he had failed the HSC exam last year, had been preparing to retake it. On Sunday afternoon, he went to Mushuli Degree College in Nandail Upazila, Mymensingh, to fill out the form for retaking the exam. While depositing the fee and verifying his information, the office assistant, Helal Uddin, discovered Touhid’s original HSC pass certificate from the previous year. Overjoyed, Touhid learned he had actually passed.
Touhid said, “I appeared for the HSC exam at Mushuli Degree College last year. When the results were published, I believed I had failed in one subject. My family and relatives also knew about it. So I studied for a year and came to the college to retake that subject, paid the fees, and submitted the form. Then, while checking my records, Helal Sir found my certificate.”
Helal Uddin, the office assistant, said, “Touhid came to submit the form on Sunday afternoon. While going through the documents, I found his original HSC pass certificate.” The acting principal, Aminul Haque, added, “Touhid is a student of our college. He came to fill out the form and suddenly discovered that he had already passed last year. We were all thrilled to hear the news.”
