British Deputy High Commissioner James Goldman and AHM Marjan Nur, Climate and Environment Adviser at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), reportedly walked about 2.3 kilometers through Dhaka’s heavy traffic congestion on Sunday (October 27) to attend an event in Paribagh.
The two officials abandoned their car near the Mohakhali flyover and continued on foot to reach their destination. In a social media post, Nur shared that the pair decided to walk after being stuck in traffic for an extended period. “James and I had an enriching walk today, observing the calm and beauty of Bangladesh on our way to the launch of new UK-Bangladesh climate projects,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Their walk came on a day when Dhaka commuters experienced severe delays due to the closure of several roads for the Elevated Expressway expansion. The temporary shutdown affected multiple areas, including Farmgate, Kawran Bazar, Kalabagan, and Shantibagh.
