In Bhuyapoor, Tangail, shops were allegedly vandalized for selling flowers on Valentine's Day, with protests also reported in front of several restaurants.
On Friday afternoon (February 14), a group of vandals damaged "Mama Gift Corner" on College Road, near Bhuyapoor Police Station. Witnesses said protesters chanted slogans like, "Valentine's Day will not happen" and "Slap lovers in rhythm."
As a result, the Basant Utsav (Spring Festival) organized by Udichi Bhuyapoor Branch has been postponed. General Secretary Syed Mehdi Hasan stated the decision was made to avoid potential unrest, assuring the event would be rescheduled once the situation normalizes.
