Sarjis Alam, a key coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Students' Movement, stated that Chhatra Shibir supported the July-August uprising by actively participating on the streets and offering both direct and indirect assistance. Speaking at a council meeting of Islami Chhatra Shibir in Dhaka, he called for unity, emphasizing that together they could confront anyone, including Prime Minister Hasina. Sarjis condemned Hasina for targeting perceived threats over the past 16 years, including religious scholars, who were harassed, tortured, and even killed. He declared that the current generation rejects Hasina’s authoritarianism, as shown by her political downfall. Sarjis expressed hope that Chhatra Shibir would continue to gain support from the people and work unitedly for the country's future, building on their collaboration during the 2024 uprising.
