Sheikh Hasina's signature on Cub Scouts' charter, DC says 'mistake'

Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's signed certificates, crests, and honors were presented at a Cub Scouts holiday event in Aditmari Upazila, Lalmonirhat, resulting in considerable criticism of the district administration. In response, Rakib Haider, President of the District Scouts and Administrator, described the incident as a "mistake." On Saturday, October 26, after a day-long event, HM Rakib Haider distributed the certificates and crests. He was accompanied by District Scouts Secretary Mozammel Haque, Additional Deputy Commissioner Afroza Khatun, Upazila Scouts President and UNO Nur-e-Elahi, OC Ali Akbar, and several district and upazila scouts officials. The event saw participation from Cub Scouts teams representing 120 primary schools in the upazila. The District Scouts organized various sports, educational training, and humanitarian education sessions for the participants, culminating in the award distribution. However, the DC later stated that only three or four awards were actually given out and that the certificates and crests were subsequently reclaimed.
