Sharif Mohammed Sadat has made history as the first Bangladeshi elected as the Asia-Pacific Regional Director (RD AP) for the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA), following his election on August 4, 2024, during the IFMSA August Meeting in Tampere, Finland, a moment coinciding with Bangladesh’s "Second Independence" celebrations. Sadat expressed deep pride in this achievement, which he views as a significant milestone for Bangladeshi medical students. He has represented Bangladesh internationally at the 75th WHO Regional Meeting for Western-Pacific, the 57th UN Commission on Population & Development, and the 2024 Asia-Pacific Medical Education Conference. His contributions include collaborative work with Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health through the International Health Policy Program and involvement in the 13th Asia-Pacific Action Alliance on Human Resources for Health Conference. Additionally, Sadat serves on the Students & New Health Professionals Panel for South-East Asia at AMEE and is associated with the World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology.
