Three students from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) tragically died after being electrocuted in Sreepur, Gazipur, this morning. Their double-decker bus, en route to a resort in Joinabazar for a picnic, came into contact with an electric wire near the Udaykhali area. The deceased—Mozammel Hossain Naim, Mostakim Rahman Mahin, and Jobayer Alam Sakib—were third-year students in Mechanical and Production Engineering. According to Professor Mohammad Muhtasim Mashfy, the accident happened as the bus tilted and touched the wire. Mostakim was electrocuted while retrieving a friend’s bag, and Jobayer lost his life trying to save him.
