Security guard caught watching women's washroom through ceiling hole at Southeast University

A troubling incident occurred at Southeast University when a female student was harassed in a female washroom between 11:20 AM and 11:35 AM. Upon entering the ground-floor washroom, she noticed a man peering through a hole in the ceiling. Terrified, she screamed, causing him to flee. It was later discovered that the man had accessed the washroom through a staff washroom that lacked a ceiling, allowing him to see into the female washroom. Initially, the university was slow to act due to an upcoming VIP visit, but after pressure from students, authorities reviewed CCTV footage. The footage confirmed the student’s account and showed a security guard entering the staff washroom several times. The perpetrator was eventually apprehended, but the incident highlighted security flaws, such as the ceilingless staff washroom. The university has vowed to hold the perpetrator accountable and improve security measures, advising students not to use the washroom until further notice.
