BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi criticized the government's actions regarding the recent Secretariat fire, claiming it was deliberately set to destroy documents from the Sheikh Hasina era. Speaking at a discussion at Dhaka Reporters Unity on December 26, Rizvi emphasized that burning such important documents was unusual and called for an impartial investigation into the matter. He also accused Sheikh Hasina of being more ruthless than the late Hussain Muhammad Ershad and claimed that India has knowingly provided support to Hasina, contributing to a propaganda campaign. Rizvi expressed concerns over attempts to establish a party controlled by intelligence agencies and questioned the true nature of political change, stating that the people would not accept such manipulation.
