Saudi ship caught while secretly smuggling weapons to Israel

In Genoa, Italy, port workers seized a Saudi Arabian ship, Bahri Yanbu, after discovering it was secretly carrying weapons and ammunition to Israel. The vessel had come from Maryland, USA, and was set to load more arms for Abu Dhabi. But 40 dockworkers boarded it and uncovered the hidden cargo. Union leaders vowed to resist aiding war efforts and to maintain permanent monitoring to block arms smuggling. Similar protests have occurred in other European ports since Israel’s assault on Gaza began in October 2023.
