Saudi Arabia launches world's first date-based soft drink

Saudi Arabia has unveiled ‘Milaf Cola,’ the world’s first soft drink made from dates. Known for their remarkable health benefits and status as a natural superfood, dates contrast with the typical perception of soft drinks as unhealthy. Milaf Cola aims to bridge this gap by combining nutrition with the pleasure of a refreshing beverage. The launch took place at the ongoing Riyadh Date Festival, with Saudi Minister of Agriculture Abdulrahman Al-Fadley and Thurath Al-Madina Company CEO Bander Al-Qahtani officiating the event. This innovative product aligns with the company’s vision of transforming date-based consumables. Thurath Al-Madina, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), has focused on creating groundbreaking date-derived products. Milaf Cola represents the culmination of extensive research and development to ensure it meets international food safety and quality standards.
