A recent investigation has implicated prominent showbiz figures, including Safa Kabir, Mumtahina Chowdhury Toya, Tanjin Tisha, and singer Sunidhi Naik, in drug procurement. The revelations surfaced after the arrest of a university student on drug charges, whose phone contained evidence linking these celebrities. Authorities discovered the use of a WhatsApp group, allegedly managed by Arindam Roy Deep, a former student of North South University, to facilitate drug transactions. Deep was apprehended on October 17 at Dhaka Airport with drugs like MDMA and LSD. Chat records revealed detailed orders, such as Safa Kabir requesting MDMA in April and Toya placing an order in September. The investigation is ongoing as officials probe deeper into the case.
