A student named Sadia Afroze Maria from the History Department at Rajshahi University was mistakenly awarded first-class honors in her third-year first-semester results, despite not having taken the exams. The error was discovered after the results were published on October 16, sparking commotion within the department. Maria missed the exams due to maternity-related health issues and had also missed her second-year second-semester exams. As a result, she has not advanced to the third year and is currently studying with the 2021-22 academic batch. Professor Abul Kashem, head of the exam committee, called the incident an "unintentional mistake," blaming it on the negligence of the exam tabulators. Professor Murtaza Khaled clarified that the error occurred because a student from a previous academic year with the same roll number was mistakenly included in the list. The department is now taking corrective measures to fix the error.
