Robbers Inside Rupali Bank in Keraniganj, Surrounded by Police

A gang of robbers attacked the Jinjira branch of Rupali Bank in South Keraniganj, Dhaka, taking around 20 people, including bank staff and customers, hostage. The robbers locked the bank gate from inside after entering around noon on Thursday. Police, RAB, and DB quickly surrounded the bank, later joined by army personnel for a coordinated rescue operation. Officer-in-Charge Piyush Sarkar of South Keraniganj Police Station confirmed the incident, which was reported at 2 pm. Law enforcement is yet to initiate an operation to resolve the hostage situation.
