During a court hearing on November 11, former Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan requested the judge not to handcuff him, stating that both his father and he had been MPs multiple times, urging that Awami League MPs and ministers should not be handcuffed. Khan, along with former ministers Dipu Moni, Rashed Khan Menon, and others, appeared in court in connection with multiple cases from Paltan, Jatrabari, and Mirpur. While the defense lawyer requested bail for the accused, the public prosecutor opposed it, seeking arrest and remand. The Metropolitan Magistrate accepted the police's request and ordered the accused to be arrested and sent to jail, noting they had previously been remanded in murder and attempted murder cases.
