Rashed Khan, who recently resigned from Gonodhikar Parishad to join the BNP, has stated that BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman coordinated the July mass uprising. He made the remarks on Wednesday (January 7) after a key meeting with Tarique Rahman at the BNP office in Gulshan.
Rashed Khan said, “We carried out the movement following Tarique Rahman’s guidance.” He added that Tarique Rahman has assigned him the Jhinaidah-4 constituency. Expressing optimism, he said BNP’s grassroots leaders would support him and vote for the “Dhanner Sheesh” symbol to ensure Tarique Rahman’s victory.
He further stated that, putting aside all personal pride and differences, party leaders and activists will work under Tarique Rahman’s direction on his behalf. Regarding party unity in Jhinaidah-4, Rashed Khan said all BNP leaders and members will follow Tarique Rahman’s decisions to ensure the Dhanner Sheesh symbol wins. He also confirmed that discussions on this unity had taken place with the Acting Chairman, and no one will oppose the party symbol outside of Tarique Rahman’s directives.
